Gillian Taylor  MBA [health] MCSP                 

Qualified as a chartered physiotherapist from St Thomas’s Hospital, London in 1979.  Established an interest in the field of neurosciences early on in her career.   Developed her clinical expertise in all aspects of the management of brain and spinal injury and undertook Advanced Bobath [neurological] training.  Teaching of under and post graduate physiotherapists, nurses and medical students was a consistent thread throughout the years.

 

Contributed to several research projects and co-authored a chapter on management of chronic back pain.

 

Worked extensively in several London teaching hospitals, including National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery and Atkinson Morley’s Hospital & the Wolfson Neuro-rehabilitation Centre - as well as a job exchange in a rehabilitation unit in the  USA.

 

Consistently developing an interest in developing teams & services, successfully completed an MBA in Healthcare at City University, London.  This provided a stepping stone to an expanding remit to manage the tertiary neuro-rehabilitation and neurology services for the SW London region.

 

Moving to Cornwall in 2002, undertook the management lead post for the Trauma & Orthopaedic service at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.
